The Farm Science Review

Join Modcon Living at the Farm Science Review, Sept. 17-19.

The three-day agricultural trade show offers educational talks and opportunities to speak one-on-one with experts from The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), which sponsors the annual event at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center near London. Now in its 57th year, the event offers the most relevant and up-to-date information to farmers on topics ranging from crop diseases to soil health.

The event features 4,000 product lines and more than 700 commercial and educational exhibits, as well as workshops and presentations delivered by CFAES experts.

Modcon Living is pleased to partner with Spectrum on June 8 as part of the Spectrum Housing Assist program.

As part of our commitment to improve 75 homes in Prairie Township by 2020, we will team up with Spectrum Housing Assist volunteers to help Gary E. with needed home repairs and property maintenance.

As part of Spectrum’s philanthropic initiative called Spectrum Housing Assist, the company provides critical home repairs across the U.S. by partnering with nonprofit organizations like Modcon Living and engaging its employees as volunteers. The company has set a goal to improve 50,000 homes by 2020. 

June 8 volunteers with help with the following:

  • Clean & check gutters and downspouts

  • Repair soffits and fascia, install temporary drip edge and re-hang gutters

  • Power wash siding and awnings

  • Paint awnings and wrought iron porch support

  • Repair side double gate

  • Trim bushes, ivy, phlox and other ground covers to clear sidewalk

  • Remove honeysuckle bush and other overgrown vegetation in backyard

  • Level ground and install two rain barrels using the existing paver bricks

  • Prep garden for planting

  • Paint shed

  • Empty all containers and store

  • Organize other materials

May 4 - Rebuilding a Healthy Neighborhood - Day of Service

Join Us May 4 for a Day of Service to our Neighbors

On this special day, we will bring more than 500 volunteers together to serve the Little Farms Addition of Prairie Township in Columbus to help low-income, vulnerable and disabled homeowners.

  • Home repairs and modifications

  • Home safety improvements

  • Neighborhood beautification

  • Light landscaping, mulching and planting

Dates to Remember

Saturday, April 27 - Skilled Services Preparation Day - Starting at 7:00 a.m.
Electricians will meet at 23 Maple Drive to address electrical repairs in advance of May 4 event.

Friday, May 3 - Preparation Day - 10:00 a.m. to Noon
Project team leads will meet with volunteers on site to set up for the May 4 event including hospitality tents, supplies delivery, mulch delivery, coordinate prep.

Saturday, May 4 - Day of Service - 7:45 to 4:00 p.m. (End time may depend upon project assignment.)

Modcon Living (formerly RT Central Ohio) is proud to be selected among seven finalists for this year’s Philanthropitch Columbus competition.

Philanthropitch is a social impact fast-pitch competition that helps fund nonprofit initiatives that are not covered by traditional grants. Join us as we compete for funding for our new social enterprise, Mod Squad!

Philanthropitch Columbus is presented by Kiwanis Club of Columbus and co-hosted by SocialVentures.

VIP Ticket includes a reception with complimentary refreshments from 4:30pm - 5:30pm.

5:30pm doors open to General tickets, and event kicks off at 6:00 p.m.

Join us for the annual Nonprofit Sustainability Showcase

On the evening of February 7, doors will open at 5:00 pm. The formal program kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with a fireside chat featuring Allen Proctor, founder of SocialVentures Columbus and Tanisha Robinson, BrewDog USA CEO, and judge for the Philanthropitch Columbus.
